Much more than an AGM : Monday, October 7

This coming Monday (October 7) is shaping up to be a very busy day in Shapinsay!

The Shapinsay Development Trust’s Annual General Meeting will be held in The Clubrooms, from 7pm – and it will be much more than your average AGM!

Alongside the usual business from the Trust we’ll have updates from a range of organisations – and, of course, coffee and cake!

Consultants Delfinity will giving us an update on the survey results gathered so far as part of the review of our 5-year plan. There will be an opportunity to feed into that review on the night!

During the AGM, other organisations – such as the island’s community council, Community Energy Scotland, the Shapinsay Community Association, and THAW Orkney – will talk about how what they do and their roles in the community.

Also on Monday, a community café event will be held in the run up to our AGM.

Visitors from even more organisations will be on hand to chat about their work and how they can help folk in Shapinsay.

This will include THAW Orkney, Warmworks, Marie Curie, the Citizens Advice Scotland, Age Concern Orkney and more!

The artists behind the planned Shapinsay Reflective Space, Louise Barrington and Megumi Barrington-Uenoyamai will also be visiting.

And, of course, there will be home bakes and a selection of beverages!
