Bin strikes suspended
Strikes due to affect bin collections, including those in Shapinsay, this week have been called off for the moment.
Orkney Islands Council have reported that members of the GMB union have decided to suspend the planned strike action affecting waste, recycling and street cleansing services to allow them to consult on a new offer made to them last Friday, August 9.
Services will therefore run as normal this week, the council says.
